sup yall? it’s been a few days since i’ve updated the page, but it’s for good reason. more shows, more events and more music is coming soon. first up i’m excited that there’s a feature about maple st. sessions on honeysoul.com. check out the free downloads from preach jacobs & denz “maple st. sessions” on honey soul here. more stuff is in developments with the ep, so guys keep your fingers crossed.

and speaking of ‘MSS’, i will be shooting a video for “falling” this weekend (i.e. sunday which is my birthday….like you care). i will be sure to have footage, pics and stories about it.

also, if you get a second, check out an interview with me and other organizers for the playing after dark series (going on this friday at the marionette theater in columbia, sc). you can check out the interview with The Free-Times here.

that’s it for now. yall be good and i’ll holla at ya. aight? chill.

4hextensions
there’s not many groups/artists that i go goo-goo-ga-ga over (is that spelled right?) fortunately for me groups like 4hero exist to show you what music is suppose to sound like. following up their 2007 album ‘play with the changes’ (with one of my favorite songs “morning child.” the song is absolutely amazing), the u.k. collective returns with ‘extensions’ due out october 26th. here’s more:

4hero present a compilation of original previously unreleased cover versions of their music, reinterpreted by a selection of hand picked artists. When presented with the idea of doing another remix album they felt a need to do something new and fresh, rather than calling up the usual remix suspects and getting dance floor club mixes 4hero have put together an album that would happily sit on the shelf of a 4hero fan. For this project they’ve sought out a range of forward thinking outfits, orchestra’s & producers including some new discoveries to cover their music. 4hero played their part in the music supervision including some recording, mixing and co producing tracks on the album making the project that much more special to the 4hero fan base. The result is cinematic and dynamic in structure and styles. 4hero are well known for pioneering new electronic music genres including Jungle/D&B, Broken Beat and Nu Jazz. The “Extensions” recordings are the best way to define Nu Jazz.

you can sample the whole project on honeysoul. get your money ready. ez

there’s so much going on right now it’s kinda difficult to keep up. first off i want to say biggups to matt over at troubled water studios for taking some more promo pics. if you don’t know he did the cover photography for ‘MSS’ and did a great job. also, while i’m handing out the thanks, i want to thank the secret b-sides for having me come along and work with them in charlotte last weekend. if you missed the show, don’t fret as i have some live video footage from the show.

that’s it for now. more to come. you can also check this video out and more footage in the video section. BING!

les paul
here we go again with another person passing away during this summer of sadness. les paul died of complications from pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY this morning.

when looking to buy my first guitar, i didn’t know much, but knew that les paul was the way to go. even if it was more pricey that your average, it made me feel invincible (despite me being terrible on the damn thing). he will be missed and his contributions to modern music will never be forgotten.

what’s goin on folks? it’s been a really crazy week but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. first up, we have a few more shows coming up including the Playing After Dark Series in Columbia. biggups to Dre of Piensa Art Company for doing the fly ass res-dogs flyer. the show will be august 21st and if you’re in the columbia area you need to stop by forealz.

i have more goodies coming up including some new video footage from the evening muse show that i have to upload. biggups to the secret b-sides as i will be playing with them again august 29th. if you forgot peep the flyer again.

and last but not least, all i have to say is turtles do it best……..um, yea.
